Amsterdam is a favourite hop for everyone on stag and hen weekends. It's extremely easy to get to and offers lively entertainment, cheap beer in a friendly city. For any tourist, you'll have loads to do in Amsterdam.

There are many cafes, bars and clubs around town that are suitable for anyone.

Amsterdam tourist travel

Being a tourist in Amsterdam is easy because it has a vast tram network that all the locals use. You need to buy tickets before you board and stamp them in the tram itself. Conductors are friendly and there are maps on each tram stop. It's very cheap also. But don't get caught or else you'll be fined.

Once in the city you can always walk. If arriving by air get the train into town. It's cheap, clean and gets you in quickly. Central station is a 5 minute walk from the lively central city.

Most hotels in Amsterdam are cheap, clean and central. You won't go wrong whichever you choose.

Sight-seeing in Amsterdam

There are many places to see, here are a few of our favourites:

Red light district - You must simply walk around this at night. It's a safe place to be. It's just off Dam Square - just follow the crowds and enjoy.
Bars/ clubs/ Restaurants - There are so many to chose from. Most are good. Perhaps ask at your hotel or just walk around. Everything is close together so you won't have to go very far.
Van Gough Museum - If you are into your paintings you should pay a visit. The famous Sunflowers hangs here and hundreds of other paintings. It can get busy but worth a look.
