Your passport
Wherever you travel you'll need a valid 10 year passport. For many countries your passport must not be due to run out within 6 months of entering that country - so check it out right now.
Visas
Do you need a visa where you are going to? The USA has a visa waiver programme in that you effectively receive your visa on entry to the US. This can be a long queue when you arrive after an eight hour flight but remember not to be too grumpy at imigration.
Non British citizens
If you are a British Dependent Territories Citizen, British Overseas Citizen, British Subject, British National Overseas, or a British Protected Person, you may need a visa that is not required by British Citizens.
Passport tips
Here are some passport tips on your travels:
- Note down your passport number on something that is not with your passport
- Try and take some other form of ID like a driving license
- Place your passport in the hotel safe
- If you lose it contact the Brisish Embassy straight away
