Here are listings of the top 100 universities in the world that was compliled by various research undertaken by asking students and staff their views. The ones we have below are from the Times Higher Education research that's undertaken each year and published online on their site for all to view.
Top 100 Worldwide Rankings 2008
Each each the Times Higher Education (THE) undertakes research into world rankings of universities based upon six elements as follows:
- Academic peer review - 40% (weighting)
- Employer review -
- Faculty/ student ratio -
- Citations per faculty -
- International faculty -
- International students -
The Times have been producing these rankings since 2004 and Harvard University has always taken top spot. They were set up after calling on the UK government to prove that the increasing university development was viable on a world stage. They are produced in early October each year on the THE site here
